Winona State University invites you to join our Community of Learners as an Assistant/Associate Professor of Graduate Nursing. This position is a probationary/tenure-track appointment with an expected start date of August 15, 2022.  As a faculty member, you will be directly responsible for teaching in an innovative and engaging Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program. Classes taught include, but are not limited to Psychopharmacology, Psychopathologic Disorders Across the Lifespan: Neurobiology, Psychiatric Assessment, Essential Features, and Evidence-Based Treatments, and Psychiatric-Mental Health NP Role and Clinical Courses I in the graduate certificate and doctoral program in nursing. Additionally, you will be expected to teach courses in other graduate nursing core courses commensurate with department needs.  Other duties associated with this appointment include (1) maintaining national certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and licensure as an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) in the State of Minnesota; instructing courses in varied locations, at varied times, and via various media commensurate with department or university needs; (3) engaging in scholarly research or creative achievement to enhance knowledge in the field; (4) contributing to student learning and development including student advising and chairing or serving on master’s thesis, scholarly inquiry paper, or Doctor or Nursing Practice Project committees; and (5) assisting with Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education accreditation processes, program development and growth, program assessment, and curriculum design and delivery. Minimum qualifications for this position include (1) nationally certified as an adult or psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner nurse practitioner through a nationally accredited master’s, graduate certificate, or Doctor of Nursing Practice program; and (2) licensed as a registered nurse with current registration, or eligible for licensure, in Minnesota and Wisconsin and licensed as an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN), or eligible for APRN licensure by the start date of the appointment, in Minnesota and Wisconsin.  For a complete job description and to apply, please go to https://winona.peopleadmin.com.  Along with a CV/resume and other required documentation, applicants should submit a statement explaining their personal or professional experiences in working with diverse populations (such as persons from differing race / ethnic background, sexual orientation, age, gender, or mental and physical ability) as well as how the applicant would contribute toward a diverse and inclusive academic and employment culture and community at Winona State University.
