Description: The College of Business at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh has lecturer positions available within the Data Analytics field.


BUS 783-4, Predictive Analytics and Machine Learning
Spring Semester, 01/24/2022 – 04/18/2022, M evening: 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM.  Online

BUS 783 and BUS 784 are two 6-week long courses within a 9-month, Data Analytics Certificate offered by the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh College of Business for working professionals seeking to build a stronger foundation in this area.  The courses will provide an introduction to regression, classification, clustering, and dimension reduction methods with numeric, categorical, and text data.  For each method, students will learn the data analytic process to explore, transform, model, optimize, visualize, evaluate, and report using the R software platform. The students will already have been introduced to statistical concepts and Extract/Transform/Load approaches in R prior to taking these courses.

The instruction is primarily delivered through a synchronous, online class session every Monday evening from 6-9 CST.  Student engagement with the lecturer via email or through the University Canvas system is expected.   Evaluating students via assignments, projects, and/or quizzes will also be the responsibility of the lecturer.  While the goals for the courses are set, the lecturer has discretion in teaching methods and content.



  • Ph.D. degree in Business Analytics or a closely related field, or:
  • A Master’s degree in Business Analytics or a closely related field, relevant professional experience.


  • Previous experience teaching or training analytics in a professional or academic context
