The Curry Health Center invites applications for an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) The APP must be an experienced, independent clinician who is able to thrive in a team environment. The individual assigned to this position must be comfortable and competent with the use of an electronic health record, exercises excellent clinical judgment, and possess experience working with a wide range of patients of various ages. The APP will be evidence based in their practice of medicine. This position assists in training and mentoring of students in clinical training programs, including pharmacy students and ATC students. In addition, clinic committee participation and/or leadership roles may be required.
The Advanced Practice Provider will provide health care services typically performed by a physician, under the supervision of a physician. This position will conduct complete physicals, provide treatment, counsel patients, and prescribe medications. This position requires licensure as a Physician’s Assistant or Family Nurse Practitioner in the state of Montana.
Upon completion of training, the incumbent will have developed a working knowledge of:
- The electronic health system used at the health center
- Curry Health and university policies and procedures
- Ability to work well with colleagues and staff within the medical clinic
- Ability to use Curry Health Center services and resources effectively to benefit students
- Experience providing care for college age patients
- Proficient in the use of an electronic health record
- Experienced in both acute and chronic care and have a high level of comfort, experience, and proficiency in providing mental health care
- Knowledge of electronic health records
- Ability to be flexible, eager and willing to work the schedule assigned that meets the needs of the clinic
- Ability to get along with co-workers and to lead by example
- Significant experience with a college age population, and possess a high level of comfort and experience providing mental health care
- Ability to bring together and maintain effective workgroups, promote cooperation and contribute to the building of an environment of trust
- Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrates tact and professionalism in decision-making
- Ability to work with a diverse population
- Licensure as a Physician’s Assistant or Family Nurse Practitioner in the state of Montana.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience working as a clinician in a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner role
- Independent, exercises excellent clinic judgment, has a positive attitude, is enjoyable to work with
- Ability to thrive in a team environment
- Strong leadership skills, excellent clinical skills, a passion for this population and their health care concerns
- Experience in young adult settings/a college health setting
- Knowledge of electronic health records, third party accreditation standards, and public health approaches to maintaining and improving community health would be beneficial
- Demonstrates initiative in their work at the health center and provides exceptional service and care to students

Position Title: Advanced Practice Provider (Mid-Level Provider)

Work Schedule: 1.0 FTE (40 Hours a week), Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Academic Year (10 months)
Salary: $45/hr - less than 5 years’ experience; $46/hr - 5 to 9 years’ experience; $47/hr - 10+ years’ experience
Union Affiliation: Out of Union
Probationary Period: Six months minimum
