The Communication Department of the College of Arts and Letters at The University of Tampa seeks candidates for a tenure-track Assistant Professor for the Journalism major in the Department of Communication to begin August 15, 2022. Teaching load is 3 courses (12 credit hours) per semester over two 15-week semesters per academic year.

 

The University of Tampa is a medium-sized, comprehensive, residentially-based private institution of more than 10,000 undergraduate and graduate students. The ideal candidate will hold a Ph.D. or terminal degree related to the appointment and teaching/research interests primarily in journalism and mass communication. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have strong professional experience in the area of broadcast journalism. Professional experience in sports journalism is also highly desirable. The ideal candidate possesses a commitment to excellence in teaching and producing research with students and proven experience engaging students in learning by doing, scholarship, conference activity, and on-campus engagement. This colleague will be joining faculty in an expanding Communication Department and College and will be relied upon to support the growth and diversity in our programs, including proposing new courses (as needed).
