School for Social Work Job Description

Job Summary

Support the classrooms, instructors and courses of the School for Social Work academic and professional development programs.

Take appropriate actions to support a diverse workforce and participate in the College's efforts to create a respectful, inclusive, and welcoming work environment.

Essential Functions

Academic programs: classroom, instructor, course support (50%)
  • Provide technical and administrative support for classrooms, courses, and instructors for academic programs including field education courses

  • Provide instructional support for classroom instructors through document development, researching and/or making updates to syllabi readings

  • Work with other related staff on the formatting and editing of course materials

  • Assist the Faculty Support Specialist with the instructor contracting process and provide logistical back up

Professional Education Course Support (40%)
  • Provide both external facing and back end technical support for webinars, online seminars, and other programs

  • Be responsible for the planning, creation, and technical implementation of educational offering events using event management software meeting the needs of both the Professional Education Office and those of consumers Project plan and manage from start to completion: in-person program events including hotel and room reservations, registration, and classroom support as needed

  • Be responsible for the planning, creation, and distribution of Course Evaluations, the collection of Post Test data, and/or certificates of completion

  • Work with Communications Office creating and distributing Pre/Post Event Messages

Other Functions

Administrative Duties (10%)

Perform other administrative duties to support the School, as needed.

Minimum Qualifications (knowledge, skills, education, experience, certifications, licenses)

High school education or equivalent and three years of relevant experience or the equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

Experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications

Associate's Degree preferred

Excellent customer service skills and strong positive attitude; Desire and ability to be a team player; Excellent reading, writing, and oral communication skills. Commitment to enliven SSW's Five Guiding Principles with the scope of work and to continually developing transgender competence; Strong computer skills and comfort with using computer programs and technology; proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel; knowledge of Banner preferred. Ability to organize and prioritize work effectively, to be precise, take initiative and responsibility, resolve problems, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to communicate and work cooperatively with all levels of a diverse organization.
