VCU Human Resources has an exciting opportunity for a Talent Strategy Coordinator!


Summary

The Talent Strategy Coordinator supports VCU’s Executive Search Team (EST) and its portfolio of high level staff searches. This role will assist the Sr. Manager, Talent Strategy with development and execution of comprehensive, innovative recruitment strategies to attract and source diverse high-quality candidates both passive and active, for a wide range of positions, with the initial and primary focus on senior and executive level staff searches. Working with hiring authorities and HR Professionals, the Talent Strategy Coordinator will assist in the full life cycle of sourcing and selecting candidates, participate in search committee meetings, and ensure inclusive and unbiased search processes in order to fill current and future positions.
Some key responsibilities of this role includes:
  • Sourcing potential hires on various online channels to include job boards and resume databases to build relationships with passive candidates.
  • Performing extensive candidate research and sourcing activities in an attempt to build diverse talent pipelines to fill current and anticipated vacancies.
  • Screening a high volume of resumes and recommending qualified candidates, specifically for senior and executive level searches.
  • Creating screening matrices ensuring grammatically sound and error free
  • Supporting all interview and campus visit planning and logistics
  • Maintaining the applicant tracking database and keeping in touch with past applicants
The role will play a critical part in finding top diverse talent to support all facets of the University. The Talent Strategy Coordinator will have a significant impact on attracting the next generation of staff at VCU. The ideal candidate will be a professional with significant, demonstrated experience in building and maintaining trusted relationships in a complex environment and contributing to a high performing team.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience
  • Commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion and the ability to identify and source diverse candidate pools
  • Strong communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Keen relationship management abilities
  • Excellent judgement and discretion in handling confidential and sensitive issues and information
  • Strong time management, organizational, and listening skills; efficient follow up and responsiveness
  • Ability to project a knowledgeable and helpful image to clients, candidates and colleagues
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a high performing team
  • Ability to provide the highest level of service with strong attention to details and prioritization skills
  • Technically savvy with experience with Microsoft office suite; ability to create presentations and reports
  • Proven ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven and highly visible environment
  • Must be willing to do what is necessary to support the team – from coordinating candidate logistics to ensuring effective seating arrangements for campus visits, coordinating refreshments and lunch selections for search committees and candidates, to eventually providing advanced search support including presentation of candidates to search committees
  • Demonstrated experience fostering a diverse and inclusive environment and an expressed commitment to do so while at VCU
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in executive recruitment and/or executive search process
  • Experience sourcing and screening prospects
  • Strong knowledge of different interview techniques, effective resume evaluation methods, and candidate mapping process
  • Ability to initiate and implement innovative solutions
Salary Range: Up to $45,000
