The John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) at Harvard University seeks applicants for a tenure-track position in the area of Electrical Engineering with an expected start date of July 1, 2022.

Candidates should have demonstrated expertise in one or more aspects of electrical engineering that pertain to autonomy, control, learning, communication, information/signal processing, and optimization in systems that interact with human and/or physical environments. We are seeking candidates with a record of theoretical, algorithmic, or experimental innovation, a strong vision for an original research program, and an interest in working collaboratively with experimentalists and theoreticians across electrical engineering and in adjacent science and engineering disciplines. Candidates should have enthusiasm for teaching both graduate and undergraduate courses in electrical engineering. SEAS values diversity among its faculty, is committed to building a culturally diverse intellectual community, and strongly encourages applications from women and underrepresented minorities.

Candidates are required to have a doctorate or terminal degree in a relevant field by the expected start date.

Required application documents include a cover letter, a CV, a statement of research interests, a teaching statement, and up to three representative papers. The cover letter should identify the candidate’s areas of core interest within electrical engineering. In addition, we ask for a statement describing efforts to encourage diversity, inclusion, and belonging, including past, current, and anticipated future contributions in these areas.

Candidates for a tenure-track position are also required to submit names and contact information of 3-5 referees, and the application is considered complete only when at least three letters have been received. At least one letter must come from someone who has not served as the candidate’s undergraduate, graduate, or postdoctoral advisor.

We encourage candidates to apply by December 15, 2021 but will continue to review applications until the position is filled.
