Job Description:

This Application Developer Analyst I serves as an entry level position in Enterprise Systems (ES) Reporting and Analytics team, a unit within UF Information Technology (UFIT), and will support the university’s success through service and operational excellence. This role, under direct supervision, works closely with customers, business analysts, and team members to understand business requirements that drive analysis and design to develop quality technical solutions for the University of Florida. This role utilizes a good understanding of information technology (IT) systems, development lifecycle, quality assurance/testing, and integration methodologies.

Some key responsibilities and characteristics of this position are:
  • Assist with maintaining reporting products and fulfilling service requests for reporting and analytic products.
  • Research customer inquiries and supports reporting and analytic end-users.
  • Identifies and analyzes problems, tests, debugs code, troubleshoots reports, and ensures quality control practices are followed.
  • Work in conjunction with other IT professionals and core office staff members to maintain existing systems and to fulfill requests for enhancements to these systems and related business processes.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills; interpersonal skills; and the ability to work collegially and interact effectively with a diverse constituency.
  • Excellent organizational skills and an ability to prioritize and complete simultaneous projects with minimal supervision.

Expected Salary:

$50,000 – $60,000; commensurate based on education and experience. In addition, the University of Florida offers a very competitive benefits package.

Minimum Requirements:

Associate's degree; or a high school diploma or equivalent and two years of relevant experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess the following experience and skills:
  • IBM Cognos systems (Framework Manager, Report Studio, Dynamic Cubes, Dashboarding, Modules, Datasets)
  • Data discovery and visualization systems (e.g. Tableau)
  • PeopleSoft enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems (HR, FI, Student, etc)
  • Structured Query Language (SQL) proficiency
  • Oracle, or other relational databases
  • Extract, transform, load (ETL) toolsets
  • Scripting languages (e.g. Python, Perl)
