ALBERT S. COOK LIBRARY
Data Science Librarian
Towson University’s Albert S. Cook Library seeks a collaborative
and knowledgeable individual to serve as the Data Science
Librarian. Towson University places a high priority on the
importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Candidates will be
expected to explain how they have been and could be involved in
advancing this campus goal. This position is a 12-month faculty
status position available immediately and beginning no later than
January 2022. Master’s degree in library or information science
from an ALA-accredited institution or equivalent; a background in
tools for storing, analyzing, and visualizing data; and a
commitment to issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion are
required. Rank is determined by qualifications at time of
appointment. Supports data analysis and data visualization efforts
by students and faculty across the university using tools such as
SPSS, R, Tableau, Google Data Studio, Microsoft Excel or others;
designs and implements data literacy services for students and
faculty; works closely with graduate students, assigned departments
and programs in a collaborative and team-based environment, the
Data Science Librarian will provide individual and small-group
consultations, workshops, and instruction in information, resource,
and software use; develops and conducts training, group
instruction, and workshops, both individually and collaboratively,
on data science research methods, tools, platforms, and best
practices; supports the work of liaison librarians working with
classes that are data-intensive; promotes usage of the Data Studio
and computers in the Data Studio by offering training in-person and
online; in collaboration with the Office of Sponsored Programs and
liaison librarians, provides training for librarians and individual
consultations with faculty on authoring data management plans;
provides input on data curation and preservation, sharing and
reuse, citation, policy and governance as it relates to research

Department of Elementary Education
Assistant Professor of Elementary Education
Tenure-Track, 10-month Assistant Professor position in the
Department of Elementary Education beginning August 2022. The
Assistant Professor should be prepared to teach and supervise
teacher candidates in the elementary education program, as well as
offer expertise in serving diverse populations and cultural
contexts. The successful candidate must have the ability to work
with a diverse population and be sensitive to the educational needs
of all students. The department is especially interested in a
candidate with a strong commitment to urban schools and social
justice. The candidate should demonstrate: 1) excellence in
teaching and supervision, 2) success or potential to teach
elementary education courses and supervise teacher candidates at
the undergraduate level, and 3) the scholarly potential to develop
a strong body of research using an innovative, collaborative, or
interdisciplinary research agenda. Applicants are expected to have
three or more years of experiences working in public schools.
Doctoral degree in curriculum and instruction, elementary
education, teacher education, or related fields is required. ABD
applicants with on-going progress will be considered if all degree
requirements are completed by June 1, 2022. This position is
full-time with benefits. Salary will be commensurate with

Department of Special Education
Assistant Professor
Tenure-track, 10-month Assistant Professor position in the
Department of Special Education beginning August 2022. It is
located at the main campus and satellite offices, with the
possibility of teaching at the regional higher education centers.
All candidates must have an earned terminal degree (Ph.D. or Ed.D.)
in Special Education, Teacher Education, or a closely related
field). Minimum of three years of successful teaching experiences
with K-12 students with ASD and their families. Teaching and/or
supervising experience at the college/university level. Excellent
communication, human relations, and organizational skills.
Demonstrated literacy in educational technology. Evidence of
scholarly potential. Responsibilities may include teaching in the
undergraduate and graduate programs in special education, including
the Master of Education (M.Ed.) Teacher as Leader in Autism
Spectrum Disorders program and the Autism in the Classroom,
post-baccalaureate Certificate (PBC) program. This position may
include outreach to the community and local school systems;
recruitment of students and student advising; and/or administration
in department programs and grants. Additional responsibilities
include engaging in external and internal service activities and
scholarly activities. The candidate must be committed to the

COLLEGE OF FINE ARTS AND COMMUNICATION
Department of Electronic Media and Film
Assistant Professor, Audio Production
Tenure-track, Assistant Professor position in the Electronic Media
and Film (EMF) Department. This new faculty member will primarily
teach undergraduate audio production and post-production classes
beginning August 2022. Terminal degree (MFA, PhD, or other doctoral
degree), ideally related to media or music production or arts,
received by Spring 2022. Demonstrated success as a teacher is
preferred. Successful candidates will have experience in some or
all the following: studio recording, location sound, mixing, sound
design, podcasting, live sound. Must be proficient with Pro Tools
and in a recording studio environment. A record of creative
activity is required. Applicants will include a portfolio of audio
production noting their role in each piece. Portfolio examples can
include: sound for media, podcasts, music recording, music
production, or other creative audio production. Applicants who

Faculty assigned an instructional workload of six (6) course units
per academic year for the first year. Beginning the second year,
the workload is the standard instructional workload of seven (7)
course units per academic year. Undergraduate teaching
responsibilities will include introductory through advanced audio
production and post-production courses. There will be opportunities
to develop new courses in the candidate’s area of expertise and
interest. Undergraduate advising is part of the teaching
responsibilities. Creative and/or scholarly work, and service to
the department, college, university, and the community/profession
are expected. The EMF Department is open to candidates with a wide
range of approaches and expertise in teaching and
scholarship/creative work in the field of audio production and
post-production. We value experience in advanced and newly emerging

Assistant Professor
Tenure-track, Assistant Professor in strings (cello preferred) in
the Department of Music beginning August 2022. Earned doctorate in
music. A master’s degree in music with significant professional
experience will also be considered. A minimum of three years of
teaching applied strings (cello preferred). Teach undergraduate and
graduate applied strings and a weekly masterclass. Coach chamber
music ensembles and develop a strong chamber music program.
Demonstrated commitment to furthering diversity, equity, and
inclusion initiatives in all aspects of the position. Demonstrated
achievement in teaching chamber music and solo repertoire. Teach
and perform diverse repertoires to foster an inclusive learning
environment. Teach string methods and string pedagogy. Recruit and
retain students including recruitment performances both on and off

and/or private schools. A sustained and focused record of
scholarly/creative activities is required. Develop and teach other

across multiple Departmental priorities which may include teaching

tenure-track and six-seven courses in subsequent academic years

Science
Assistant Professor or Associate Professor
Three tenure-track, 10-month Assistant Professor or Associate
Professor positions in the Department of Occupational Therapy and
Occupational Science beginning August 2022. Earned research
doctoral degree by February 28, 2023. Licensed or eligible for
licensure as an occupational therapist in the State of Maryland;
clinical experience practicing occupational therapy and teaching
experience in occupational therapy or occupational science.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated
awareness and clear articulation of strategies to foster an
inclusive learning environment. Commitment to excellence in
teaching, advising, scholarship, and service. Salary is
commensurate with experience. Teach graduate students in coursework
focused on clinical practice in area of expertise and foundational
knowledge as well as direct research in occupational therapy and/or

Department of Speech-Language Pathology &
Audiology
Assistant Professor or Associate Professor in
Speech-Language Pathology
Two tenure-track, 10-month Assistant or Associate Professor
positions in the Department of Speech-Language Pathology &
Audiology beginning August, 2022. One position will focus on
pediatric speech-language development/disorders; the other position
will be open to all specialty areas. Applicants
should have a research doctoral degree in speech-language pathology
or related field. ABD applications will be considered with initial
appointment at the Instructor rank; all degree requirements must be
completed by February 28, 2023. ASHA CCC-SLP certification and
current (or eligibility for) Maryland licensure are required.
Candidates wishing to be considered for the rank of associate
professor should have at least 6 years of experience teaching in
higher education or comparable qualifications, and demonstrate a
clear line of scholarship with outcomes. Candidates should have a
commitment to working with a diverse group of faculty, staff, and
students and to cultivating and strengthening a diverse and
inclusive healthcare workforce. Primary responsibilities include:
(1) Teaching: Research active instructors teach 6 units over a
10-month academic year in a highly diverse, student-focused
program; provide high-quality instruction at the undergraduate and
graduate levels; advise and mentor students as they matriculate
through the program and prepare to enter the profession; clinical
supervision may also be included. (2) Scholarship:
Development/continuation of a focused area of research that
includes peerreviewed publications, professional presentations,
grant funding, and involvement in scholarly projects with students;
(3) Service: Active service participation at the university,
