Hampden-Sydney College currently has an opening for a
Coordinator for Inclusive Excellence and Programming.
Reporting to the Dean of Inclusive Excellence, the Coordinator for
Inclusive Excellence and Programming plays a vital role in
developing, implementing, and administering diversity, equity and
inclusion programs for the Office of Equity and Inclusion. The
Coordinator performs a variety of administrative duties in support
of the Dean of Inclusive Excellence and programs integral to the
operations of the office. The Coordinator assists with the
selection, training, supervision and evaluation of the DEI
Ambassadors, and will be responsible for researching and designing
curriculums on diversity and inclusion for students. Other duties
include community engagement, student development, advising student
organizations, staff development, crisis intervention, programming,
and helping Hampden-Sydney create one of the finest student and
campus cultures on any college or university campus. This is a
required live on-campus position that includes the expectation of
frequent interaction with the student-body throughout campus to
promote community development, the development of the Minority
Student Union and Unity ALLiance organizations and houses
on-campus.
Qualifications: A bachelor's degree is required, with a
master's degree preferred, and a work history that demonstrates a
minimum of two-three years of DEI experience. Strong administrative
and supervisory skills are required. Experience and skill at
working with all students, including students of diverse cultural
backgrounds and knowledge of issues facing diverse student
populations. Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills with the
ability to identify and analyze problems and devise solutions.
Project management skills with a strong focus on attention to
detail in regards to program planning and logistics. Excellent oral
and written communication skills, including public speaking and
presentations. Experience coordinating student learning activities
and programs. Experience advising and providing resources to
students and/or student groups.
