Join the Portland Community College team! The Contract & Grant
Accounting (CGA) Department is seeking a talented grant Accountant
II. The grant Accountant II serves at the Downtown Center,
conveniently located next to lightrail, downtown waterfront, and
many restaurant and retail options. The position will work remotely
until normal campus operations resume.
Under the direction of the Contract & Grant Accounting Manager,
the grant Accountant II applies federal, state and local laws,
regulations, and policies to manage various grants and contracts
that support the College's mission of equitable student success.
The grant Accountant II portfolio will have a specific emphasis on
grants that support the College's K-12 & Community Partnerships
based at the Cascade campus and be assigned to all Title II grant
funds. The grant Accountant II will also collaborate with
departmental managers by providing technical information regarding
accounting principles and the College's accounting software.
Additionally, the grant Accountant II will coordinate with the
Contract & Grant Accounting Manager, internal stakeholders, and
fellow team members coordination projects that support not only
CGA, but also other departments and divisions that are supported by

the demonstration of these qualifications.
- Knowledge of and experience applying federal and state laws,
rules and regulations to grants and contracts;
- Experience with government/non-profit fund accounting;
- Experience preparing financial reporting to federal/state
agencies to support grant reimbursement;
- Experience coordinating with project investigators and grant
administrators to submit timely reports and ensure grant
- Experience providing technical information to departmental
managers and other staff regarding college accounting requirements
and college accounting software;
- Experience preparing and/or reviewing complex budgets; and
- Experience with coordinating projects.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration
or related field (experience performing the duties described may
substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year
Two years experience working in governmental, municipal or fund
Demonstrated experience working with PC and mainframe computer
systems, hardware and supporting software applications. Experience
working with computerized accounting systems and how they aid in
compiling, maintaining, and using accounting information.
Starting Salary Expectations
$50,200 to $53,777 (Step 3); based on qualifications,
experience, and internal equity.
Position Grade Salary Range
$50200 to $87046 Annual Salary

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
Work is typically performed in an office environment or at various
college locations. Occasional evening or weekend hours may be
required depending on project requirements.
Occasional lifting, guiding and/or carrying of files and other work
materials when working at various college locations. May sit for
extended periods of time at a desk or working at a computer.
