Qualifications:
Organic Chemistry II (Chem 106L) laboratory, the second in a 2-semester sequence focuses on the structure and reactivity of aromatic compounds, aldehydes and ketones, carboxylic acids and derivatives, and amines. The laboratory includes an emphasis on multi-step organic syntheses and discussion of biologically-relevant organic compounds.
This laboratory meets in person, on campus on Tuesday from 1:15 - 5:15 pm during the Spring 2022 Term.
In addition to teaching, the instructor is expected to hold regular virtual office hours (a minimum of one hour per week) in order to provide students with support outside of the classroom.
Candidates must have a Ph.D. in a relevant area of chemistry, a successful record of teaching experience in chemistry at the undergraduate level, and familiarity with online/hybrid instruction in order to prepare for contingencies.
