Job Summary

The product designer and researcher provides support for all design- and research-related tasks for Drexel Food Lab’s internal and client-facing services. This includes visual design assets like presentations, research reports, flyers, packaging design, and social media content, as well as research deliverables like designing and executing research for consumer studies, competitive analysis (market research), and product research (packaging, labeling, etc.). This role also supports the project managers’ role: managing and developing project deliverables, expenses, procurement, space and meeting scheduling, research and grant reporting, communications, and support for the investigators.

Essential Functions
  • Design visual content for internal- and external-facing deliverables including presentations or any content with graphic design elements
  • Plan, conduct, and synthesize quantitative and qualitative research for consumer studies, competitive analysis, and/or product research including surveys, focus groups, dyad interviews, field visits, and online research
  • Facilitate events with clients and/or partners
  • Research and provide recommendations regarding packaging, labelling, or brand identity for client projects
  • Manage Drexel Food Lab’s social media accounts and overall brand identity
  • Collaborate on development of food products from ideation to commercialization
  • Provide organizational and technical support to the project manager and director
Required Qualifications
  • Master's Degree, Product Design, Graphic Design or related field. A minimum of one (1) year experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in the food & beverage, restaurant, sustainability, or agriculture industries
Physical Demands
  • Typically sitting at a desk/table
