The Department of Computer Sciences at Auburn University at Montgomery ( AUM ) invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor position in the areas of Computer Science/Engineering, Cyber Security, Animation and Video Game Development. The anticipated start date for this position is in either Spring or Fall semesters, 2022. This fast-growing department at AUM offers a Bachelor degree in Computer Science, a Master degree in Computer Science, and a Master degree in Computer Information Systems and Cybersecurity. Department research areas include computer animation, video gaming, augmented & virtual reality, embedded systems, cyber-physical systems, mobile & cloud computing, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, parallel and distributed computing, human-robot interaction or computer science education. Tenure track candidates will be expected to collaborate with existing faculty on interdisciplinary projects, and teach both undergraduate and graduate courses. Existing tenure track faculty in the department are research active with ongoing and past support from NSF and other funding sources. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Desired Qualifications:
Applicants for this tenure track position must have a Ph.D. in Computer Science/Engineering or a closely related field. Excellent communication skills are required. Preferred qualifications include teaching and research experience. Recent graduates with exceptional academic credentials are encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to individuals with a track record of interdisciplinary collaboration, and appointment at the rank of Associate Professor would be considered for qualified applicants. The tenure track candidates should demonstrate the potential to 1) excel as a teacher in both undergraduate and graduate courses, 2) mentor undergraduate, graduate students, and 3) disseminate research results in the appropriate scholarly outlets.

Start Date: January or August 2022.
