Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine is currently seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join the Department of OB/GYN. In support of SOM’s mission and vision, the selected candidate will provide and manage direct patient care at one or more of the out-patient clinical offices located in the Southern New Jersey area.

Under the general supervision of the Chair of Obstetrics and Gynecology and working collaboratively with a physician and under the clinical supervision of the Director, the Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) has the responsibility for meeting the needs of a determined number of patients in an outpatient setting. The major duties of a APN faculty member include, but are not limited to, antepartum, and postpartum care of patients in the office, and triage of patient phone calls. Duties also include counseling, ordering diagnostic testing, instruction and administration of birth control to women seeking help with family planning, basic gynecologic care in the clinical office setting and other duties as assigned by the chair.

The APN provides consultation to clinical staff regarding patient care issues, and may also provide patient education to meet the needs of the patient and families. The ideal candidate participates in a collegial relationship with physicians, social workers, nurses and other health care professionals and prescribes or recommends drugs or other forms of treatment for the patient's obstetrical and gynecological care. Previous obstetrical and gynecological care experience is preferred.

The candidate must hold the following:

• Valid NJ nursing license, CDS license and DEA license

• Certified as either Clinical Nurse Specialist, Nurse Midwife, Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant in the State of New Jersey.

This is a full time faculty position. Salary is competitive and is accompanied by a comprehensive benefits package.

Our clinical campus is located in Southern New Jersey, which is within the Philadelphia metropolitan area approximately eight miles from Center City Philadelphia, one hour from the Jersey Shore, and hour and a half from NYC and two hours from Washington, DC.
