Reporting to the Senior Advisor, with a dotted line to the Associate Director of Non-Degree Education and Outreach, the incumbent will provide broad administrative and project management support for the Climate School’s various non-degree programs. This includes but is not limited to: the Climate School Partner Affiliate Program, Climate Finance Research Initiative Fund, Professional Learning Program, and Pre-College Program.
Responsibilities
- The Program Manager supports these programs by managing and performing day-to-day tasks corresponding to partner engagement and operations. These include but are not limited to: maintaining and curating Climate School research outcomes; drafting, reviewing and distributing quarterly and other reports; maintaining contact lists for existing and potential partners; tracking electronic and other correspondence between Columbia and partners; maintaining group event and meeting calendars; and assisting in financial and administrative tasks.
- The Program Manager will be responsible for setting and meeting project deadlines, coordinating workshop and roundtable agendas, and ensuring new programs and partnerships move forward effectively. They will manage communication activities for the various programs, such as website and listserv management, drafting email and other communications, and managing queries/requests.
- The incumbent will also act as a steward for relationships with external partners and other stakeholders, and will manage interactions with Columbia researchers, faculty, administrators, and other staff. They will provide routine communications and updates to partners and assist in tracking project updates with Columbia units where applicable (e.g. sponsored projects administration, office of general counsel, etc.)
- The incumbent may also supervise student interns and other part-time assistants and may delegate tasks as needed and appropriate. This person will join a dynamic unit within the recently created Columbia Climate School. Within that context, this person will expect to spend time and focus on other non-degree programming and support services as the school evolves and grows.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3 years related work experience, or equivalent.
- Excellent oral/written communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly effective organizational skills
- Thorough proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-bias
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree preferred
- Excellent analytic and research skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage and lead projects
- Demonstrated interest in climate, sustainability and/or Earth science education
