Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow in the Department of Ophthalmology (Ref.: 508781), to commence as soon as possible for two years, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.

Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree preferably in biomedical sciences, bioengineering, biological sciences or a related discipline, with experience in molecular biology, tissue cell culture, confocal/fluorescent microscopy, and animal experiments (e.g. mouse handling, electroretinography, tissue dissection/processing/sectioning, immunohistochemical staining, RNA/DNA extraction/processing, qPCR, protein extraction, western blots, and cell culture techniques). Previous research work experience in ophthalmology/visual science-related translational research, particularly in relation to drug delivery and pharmaceutics, will be desirable. They should also have a strong sense of responsibility and self-motivation, an excellent command of written and spoken English, good interpersonal and communication skills, and have the ability to multi-task and work independently and collaboratively as a team. The appointee will be involved in research projects related to development of novel pharmacological treatments for ocular diseases and investigations in neuroregeneration and neuroprotection.
