American University of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates
invites applications for one-semester or one-year visiting faculty
positions in psychology starting August 2022. As an
American-accredited institution in the liberal arts tradition, we
seek candidates with a passion for both teaching and research in
any area of specialization.
Successful candidates will have a PhD in psychology or a closely
related field, professional experience reflecting a commitment to
teaching, and strong communication skills. As a university formed
on the American model with English as the language of instruction,
we give priority to candidates who have experience in American
models of higher education.
Our new undergraduate program in psychology has exceeded its
projected enrollments with three highly motivated student cohorts.
The program hosts dedicated lab spaces, specialized software and
hardware, and a research participation pool. Our psychology faculty
regularly publish in peer-reviewed journals, have won internal and
external competitive grants, and integrate undergraduates into
their lab activities.
For the first stage of evaluation, we require only your CV and a
letter detailing your interest in the position. In your letter,
please indicate which semester you are interested in joining (Fall
2022, Spring 2023) or whether you are interested in joining for the
