Northwestern College (Orange City, Iowa)
invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty position
(Assistant or Associate Professor) in Biology to
begin August 15, 2022. The successful candidate can expect to teach
human physiology and associated biomedical courses (e.g.
pharmacology, pathophysiology, neuroscience) in the undergraduate
program. There may also be opportunity to teach similar courses in
the physician assistant graduate program curriculum. The teaching
load for this position is 24 hrs per academic year, along with
expectations for scholarship and service.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must hold a
graduate degree in physiology or related biomedical field (e.g.
pharmacology) and demonstrate effective teaching of human
physiology. Candidates will exhibit a love of Christ, an embrace of
the Gospel, and support the college’s mission as expressed in
our Statement of
Christian Identity, Vision for
Learning and Vision for Diversity.

Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be
given to candidates with a terminal degree, undergraduate
teaching experience, and those who can engage students in their
research/scholarly agendas. An ideal candidate will also bring
enthusiasm, experience and energy in the development of relevant
didactic basic sciences content and is eager to integrate
technology into the learning experience.
