Job Summary
The College of Liberal Arts at Auburn University ( CLA ) is seeking a communications editor and content strategist who is passionate about telling stories that showcase the value of the liberal arts and their impact on the world.
Essential Functions
Under the supervision of the Director of Communications and Marketing, the person in this position will be primarily responsible for:
Communicating key messages and achievements of CLA faculty, students and alumni through researching, writing and editing feature stories for a variety of mediums including e-newsletters, magazines, advertisements, flyers, websites and more.
Assisting in the maintenance and updating of the college’s websites including writing compelling content, uploading photos, and posting articles and feature stories.
Utilizing SEO best practices and techniques to increase organic visibility and website traffic.
Coordinating and maintaining a comprehensive editorial calendar
Working with CLA departments/units to develop engaging content that is consistent with our brand and strategic objectives.
This position is a key member of the College of Liberal Arts communications and marketing team and will work collaboratively on multiple projects with team members as needed including print and digital materials, video projects, websites, and more.
The College of Liberal Arts is the intellectual heart of Auburn University. With over 4,800 students and 500 faculty and staff, CLA is a diverse college offering degrees in the fine and performing arts, communication, humanities, social sciences, and aviation.
