The Division of Applied Social Sciences (DASS) seeks applications for the position of Assistant Teaching Professor. This is a non-tenure track, nine-month appointment, which will support its undergraduate and graduate programs in Personal Financial Planning (PFP).
This position will be responsible for teaching courses focused on Employee Benefits and Retirement Planning, Estate and Gift Planning, Tax Planning, and other courses delivered via traditional classroom and/or online that would prepare students to meet the education requirement to sit for the national CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ exam at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Other teaching, undergraduate/graduate advising and/or service responsibilities may be assigned in place of the above should our needs change.
Minimum Qualifications
- A Juris Doctor (JD) degree completed before the first day of employment.
Candidates will be evaluated on:
- Qualifications to teach the above-described courses.
- CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation status.
- Experience working with undergraduate students in a learning and mentoring environment.
- Experience with e-learning and technology-related educational innovation.
- Experience working with undergraduates and graduates for advising, recruitment, and industry
- Commitment to inclusive practices.
