Assistant Professor in Biochemistry (Position Number 120800)
The Department of Biology at the University of West Florida in Pensacola, FL invites applications for a 9-month tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level starting August 2022. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Biochemistry or a related field from an accredited institution that will complement the department’s research programs and mission. Our faculty are active teacher-scholars who value collaborations both within and across disciplines. The department seeks applicants who will engage in student mentorship and innovative course design that incorporates research-based curriculum using inclusive and equitable strategies. Responsibilities include the standard teaching load at the undergraduate or graduate level of three courses, lecture and/or lab sections, per semester possibly including, but not limited to: Biochemistry I and labs, Biochemistry II, Biology I, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology or other related courses in the faculty member’s discipline. Applicants are expected to establish an active research program that involves graduate and undergraduate students supported by external funding.

Minimum Qualifications: Doctoral degree by the time of appointment in Biochemistry or closely related discipline from an accredited institution with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service.
