Job Summary:

Teach Botany 410, Evolutionary Biology, during the Spring 2022 semester. This is a 3 credit, in-person course with an honors option. Instruction will occur on MWF 9:55 AM-10:45 AM.

Duties include preparing a syllabus, conducting lectures, preparing and grading assignments and exams, maintaining online resources in Canvas, providing office hours for students, responding to student inquiries, and conducting review sessions. The lecturer will fulfill all administrative duties associated with these courses, such as submitting grades and appropriate handling of student records. Depending upon enrollment, the lecturer may also coordinate teaching activities with a teaching assistant.

Education:

Required
PhD in Botany or related field with knowledge of evolutionary biology and modern pedagogy

Qualifications:

Two to four years of university-level teaching experience preferred. Familiarity with UW-Madison course Botany 410, Evolutionary Biology.

Additional Information:

There is a possibility that this position may be extended in subsequent semesters to teach the course listed on this PVL, or similar courses within the department. This position may become renewable if there is a need for an ongoing appointment.
