About EDI
Website: https://edi.bard.edu/

The Economic Democracy Initiative (EDI) is the Open Society University Network's collaborative program that brings cutting-edge economic thinking, methods, and pedagogy to students to explore novel solutions to pressing economic problems of global concern. The research and teaching priorities of the initiative center on issues of work, economic stability and security, and public policy around social and environmental justice, and the structural determinants of inequality.

EDI brings leading thinkers, policy makers, scholars, and activists to the OSUN community through its curricular and research programming, including the Economic Democracy Keynote, Research-to-Action speaker series, faculty research workshops, and EDI Summer School. At the curricular level, EDI designs and offers new OSUN Network Collaborative Courses to expand student access to a broader set of economic ideas, beyond economic orthodoxy.

EDI has also launched a beta version of our resource tool designed to help students and researchers to facilitate EDI curricular and research activities. EDI is currently planning a summer school (2022) and a certificate in applied economic policy analysis, both designed for the next generation of policymakers committed to the principles of economic stability, inclusion, and justice.
