Assistant Professor of English - WVU Tech (Beckley)

The College of Business, Humanities and Social Sciences at West Virginia University Institute of Technology invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of English. We are seeking an outstanding candidate to complement the faculty in a multidisciplinary department of History, English and Creative Arts.

Responsibilities include teaching twelve undergraduate hours per semester, including technical writing. Ability to teach public speaking is desirable. The successful candidate will actively contribute to scholarly pursuits in English studies, to departmental initiatives, and to the intellectual and cultural life of the university. Additional responsibilities include committee assignments, participation in professional development, attending regularly scheduled faculty and department meetings, and other duties associated with a tenure-track faculty position.

Qualifications :

A Ph.D. in English with an emphasis in Composition and Rhetoric, conferred by August 2022, is required. Candidates must also exhibit evidence of effective teaching experience in composition and technical writing at the college level along with evidence of scholarly promise. Experience with online instructional technologies and teaching classes online is desirable.
