The Office of Academic Engagement is pleased to announce its search
for an Executive Director of Student Success. The Dr. Patricia L.
Stith Student Success Center is a department of the Office of
Academic Engagement and reports to the Associate Vice
Provost.
The Executive Director of Student Success will help to develop, implement, and coordinate a comprehensive student retention plan. This individual will work on university wide retention efforts, including committees. The director will create initiatives to increase student academic success, persistence, and graduation rates. The director will work closely with the Associate Vice Provost of Academic Engagement to strengthen student experiences through high impact practices and student engagement initiatives. Minimum Qualifications 1. Considerable knowledge of best practices for support services and methodologies that impact student outcomes.
2. Considerable knowledge of program assessment and making decisions on operational components.
3. Experience coordinating student retention programs in partnership with senior leadership and other central stakeholders.
4. Ability to create communication plan with stakeholders on retention objectives and initiatives.
5. Considerable experience providing presentations and updates on student success and retention-related matters
6. Excellent interpersonal skills.
7. Skilled in use of technology, software, and resources to assist and aid in retention.
8. Demonstrated ability to guide academic support units to ensure compliance with the University’s goals and policies.
9. Demonstrated ability to manage and monitor multiple financial accounts and resources.
10. Demonstrated ability to lead, manage, train and evaluate staff.
11. Demonstrated experience with high impact practices
12. Experience with grant writing and grant administration
13. Demonstrated ability to establish timelines, deadlines, and benchmarks for accomplishing goals and objectives.
14. Must possess a minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience working in higher education in academic affairs administration, academic advisement, retention, or transitional programs.
15. Experience interacting and collaborating with various stakeholders.
16. Must possess a Master’s degree in higher education leadership, counseling, student personnel/development or related field.
