The Graduate School of Planning of the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus, is recruiting one candidate for tenure track teaching positions with an expected starting date of August 1, 2022.
Requisites for the position
- Ph.D. Degree in Planning from an accredited institution
- Expertise area: Economic Development, Social Policy and Housing
- Have knowledge in the areas of history, theory and practice of
planning, implementation, and the relationship between the State,
Market and governance in planning. Furthermore, the applicant
should dominate at least one of the following items, a and b:
- Community theories and economic development, as well as tools and techniques for the analysis of economic development issues, in order to offer courses on planning emphasis areas
- Social policy, housing, development theories and its new visions, analytical techniques for public policy and development issues
- University-level teaching experience in classroom as well as online
- Experience in research and publications in the candidate´s area of expertise in peer reviewed journals
- Availability to advise student capstone projects
- Experience in seeking external funding
Responsibilities
- Teach core Planning courses as well as emphasis area courses and electives, during day, night and Saturdays, in the classroom as well as online
- Supervise professional practice, and offer the Planning Practicum course
- Student mentorship, based on the needs of the Program
- Obtain external funds
- Conduct research that produces at least two publications every year in the area of expertise
