Description: This position will be responsible for assisting the Director of Academic Advising with the administration of academic advising, coaching and recovery, as well as coordination of the College’s academic tutoring program. This may include, conducting group advising sessions for students and developing and presenting programs to students on topics such as time management, study skills, decision making skills and other academic success strategies. Providing individual academic advising to undeclared students and students considering changing majors. Assisting students in identifying barriers to their academic success and work with them to strengthen their study skills such as time management, notetaking and preparing for exams. Supporting faculty in working with their advisees on academic probation.
Requirements: This job requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree in student personnel, higher education, or related field is preferred. Four (4) to five (5) years of student advising experience is required. The successful candidate must have strong written and oral communication skills and possess strong organizational and computer skills. Must have the ability to interact professionally with administrators, faculty, staff, and students. A strong, demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the mission and vision of Grove City College is essential.
