The University of Indianapolis is seeking an adjunct faculty member in the Graduate Department of Clinical Psychology for Semester II of 2021-2022 (January 2022 to May 2022). This is a part-time, non-tenure track position. This individual will teach 2 sections of a first-year doctoral level course introducing basic psychoanalytic concepts of personality and psychopathology and their implications for psychotherapeutic technique.

Remote work from the state of Colorado will not be permitted.

  • Teach a dynamic, interactive, and engaging graduate course integrating psychoanalytic theory and technique.
  • Areas to be covered include: Freudian, ego psychology, interpersonal, object-relations, Lacanian, and self psychology.
  • Respond to student emails in a timely manner.
  • Hold office hours and/or be available to meet with students virtually or in-person outside of class.
  • PhD or PsyD in Psychology, Counseling, or related field required
  • Experience teaching at the undergraduate or graduate level
  • (Preferred) Clinical training and practice experience in one or more of the following areas: transference-focused psychotherapy, mentalization-based therapy, ego psychology, interpersonal process therapy, object-relations, Lacanian, self psychology, and/or other psychoanalytically-informed psychotherapy.
