JOB DESCRIPTION: The University of South Dakota,
School of Education, invites applicants for a faculty position for
our CAEP-accredited teacher education programs. The opening is a
nine-month position with the possibility of summer teaching. The
successful candidate is expected to teach undergraduate and
graduate coursework in the following areas: Elementary Education,
Early Childhood Education, and Educational Technology. The
successful candidate should also possess knowledge related to
face-to-face, online, and other distance learning modalities, and
may supervise student teachers and related field experiences.
Additional assignments may be made based on the professional and
academic background of the faculty to complement the strengths of
the Division faculty and to address the diverse needs of students
in programs within the Division of Teacher Residency and Education,
School of Education, and university community. Instructor or
lecturer level faculty members are expected to make contributions
in teaching and service, including mentoring students in and out of
the classroom. QUALIFICATIONS:
Requires an earned Master’s degree by August 22, 2022, in
Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, STEMEducation,
Educational Technology, Curriculum & Instruction, or a closely
related field. Applicants must show evidence of accomplishments or
strong potential for success in teaching, and professional service.
Preference will be given to those who (a) have at least three years
of teaching experience in Elementary and/or Early Childhood
education or related disciplines in P-12 schools, (b) have had
successful teaching experiences in college/university settings, ©
those able to teach through a variety of modalities and delivery
methods (i.e., online, face-to-face, blended/hybrid), (d) those who
possess strengths in multiple areas, such as: Elementary Education,
Early Childhood Education, STEM Education, and Educational
Technology and (e) those with a terminal degree. We especially
encourage applicants whose teaching, mentoring, and/or service will
contribute to our principle of inclusive excellence. Candidates

SALARY/COMPENSATION: Salary is commensurate with
qualifications. Faculty positions are nine-month appointments with
the possibility of summer employment. THE
