Instructor – Education Scholar Pathway - Department of Neurological Sciences, The University of Vermont, Larner College of Medicine

The Department of Neurological Sciences at the University of Vermont’s Larner College of Medicine is recruiting for an Instructor position on the Education Scholar Pathway. Primary responsibilities include teaching in the Doctor of Physical Therapy and Master of Medical Science Curricula (Gross Anatomy and Neuroscience) as well as the Vermont Integrated Curriculum for medical students (Foundations of Clinical Sciences and Medical Neuroscience). Depending on the candidate’s skillset, responsibilities may also include participation in undergraduate Neuroanatomy and Anatomy & Physiology courses.

Qualified candidates should have a doctoral degree (MD, DO, or PhD) in biological or related sciences and one to two years related experience in laboratory teaching. Knowledge of human anatomy and neuroanatomy is required including cadaver dissection as well as teaching experience in a neuroscience laboratory. Additional requirements include a passion for teaching, strong interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to work in team-based education for learners varying from undergraduates to postgraduate learners. Preference will be given to candidates with advanced training in human gross anatomy, human neuroscience, and physiological systems. Experience with active learning strategies and implementation is also highly desirable.
