Assistant Professor of Health and Human Performance

Concordia University Chicago (CUC) invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor for the Health & Human Performance Program. Specifically, the program is seeking a candidate with expertise in Scientific Writing and Measurement & Evaluation Techniques in Health & Human Performance. The ideal candidate would have the ability to also teach doctoral-level courses related to cardiovascular and neuromuscular responses to exercise; and/or sports nutrition.

Responsibilities/Duties:

1. Primary responsibility includes teaching 24 credit hours in the doctoral HHP program each year
2. Responsible for maintaining a courses' curriculum including but not limited to:
   1. Updating required and recommended readings
   2. Updating syllabi
   3. Updating course content
   4. Completing annual assessment map
3. Additional responsibilities include:
   1. Serving on dissertation committees
   2. Grading comprehensive examinations
4. Service to the program, department, college, university, profession, and community is expected
5. Other duties as assigned by the Program Director and/or Chair

Skill Sets:

1. Experience with learning management systems, preferred Blackboard
2. Content expertise in Scientific Writing, Measurement & Evaluation in Health & Human Performance
3. Experience with online pedagogy
4. Proficient with lecture recording to aid in online education
5. Strong administrative skills
6. Superior communication skills; both written and verbal
7. Enthusiastic supporter of Lutheran higher education and Concordia University Chicago

Minimum Experience Required:

1. Experience teaching in a Health & Human Performance-related graduate program
2. Teaching online for a Higher Education program
3. Record of mentorship of graduate students
4. Record of scholarship

Education Requirements:

Completed PhD in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology, or closely related field

Compensation and Benefits:

Starting range and faculty rank is dependent upon individual qualifications and experience.
