Women’s Basketball Student Development Assistant ( Athletics Operations 2 – MR0 6 )

This position provides support to the Women's Head Basketball Coach with all aspects of care and development of student athletes.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Women’s Basketball Student Athlete Development Assistant works directly with the Director of Basketball Operations (DOBO) to schedule all aspects of team travel and team meals; serves as the academic liaison for the Women's basketball program and works with Student Support Services office regarding class checks, tutoring appointments, etc.; serves as the compliance liaison for the Women's basketball program and works with the compliance office regarding completing NCAA practice logs and adherence to all NCAA rules and regulations; serves as the strength and conditioning liaison for the Women's basketball program and works with the strength and conditioning coach to ensure proper nutritional needs are met for all student athletes; serves as the sports medicine office and ensures that proper communication is maintained between the athletic training room and the Women’s basketball program regarding student athlete health and welfare; and coordinates community service activities for the team.
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Knowledge of UTC, Department of Athletics and National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), and all applicable conferences and associations
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent organization skills
- Ability to Interact with others in a professional manner at all times

Minimum Qualifications: Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and one year of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Preferred Qualifications: NCAA Division 1 level basketball playing or coaching experience.
