Job Description Summary

Position : The Department of Supply Chain Management ( SCM ) in the Harbert College of Business at Auburn University invites applications for the Managing Director of the Center for Supply Chain Innovation. This position will be a non-tenure track position within the Department of Supply Chain Management at the rank of either Professor of Practice or Lecturer/Senior Lecturer beginning Summer or Fall 2022.

The Harbert College’s Center for Supply Chain Innovation ( CSCI ) is dedicated to producing highly- successful graduates and generating knowledge that drives diverse supply chain and logistics thought and sustainable business practice. The CSCI has a vision to become one of the elite supply chain programs among public universities in the United States.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Maintain relationships with existing sponsors (in collaboration with Executive Director).
  2. Recruit new sponsors (in collaboration with Executive Director and HCOB Office of Advancement).
  3. Expand the network of companies engaging with CSCI and SCM department.
  4. Manage ongoing CSCI projects.
  5. Manage annual FUSION SCM Symposium (in collaboration with Executive Director).
  6. Manage annual CSCI Sponsors Forum (in collaboration with Executive Director).
  7. Teach industry facing course(s) in the SCM Program.
  8. Support the Program Champion, Internship Coordinator, and Department Chair

Minimum Qualifications

Qualifications:
  • Successful applicants will have significant professional experience and expertise in supply chain management and logistics.
  • A proven dedication to teaching and mentoring along with a demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with multiple constituents is highly desirable.
  • A Master’s degree from an accredited institution is required at the time employment begins.
  • Selected candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of appointment and continue working legally for the duration of their employment.
