The Center for Innovation in Engineering Education is being launched in 2022 to lead the College of Engineering to new and innovative advancements in engineering education. The Center will have responsibility for leading the College of Engineering's innovation and scholarship in undergraduate engineering education and will conduct and sponsor research in the area of engineering education, develop and support the implementation of new pedagogical approaches and instruction technologies that enhances student's educational experience, embed leadership, entrepreneurship and communications development throughout the curriculum, explore lean principles in engineering education, support the design and optimization of classroom technology and use efficiency, assess the educational impact of the new practices on student learning outcomes, and grow CoE's reputation among students, academic, and industrial communities as leaders in engineering education. Center activities may also include providing oversight and management of core engineering courses and assessment of the educational impact of the new practices on student learning outcomes.

A core element of the Center will be the discovery of new knowledge and information to enhance the skills of faculty and instructors and provide instruction on how to incorporate new technologies and practices into their instructional programs.
