Associate Professor of Educational Leadership
The Fairfield University School of Education and Human Development invites applications for an Associate Professor of Educational Leadership whose expertise, experience, teaching, advising, mentoring and scholarship is in the area of K-12 and/or Social Justice Leadership. Faculty in the Educational Studies and Teacher Preparation department teach and advise students in both the MA and EdD programs. This tenure-track appointment would start, with the possibility of remote teaching, during the spring 2022 semester.
The Educational Studies and Teacher Preparation department has a strong commitment to preparing educators who are devoted to equity, diversity, inclusion, and racial justice. We successfully prepare school practitioners and leaders with a strong focus on social justice, grounded in our Jesuit mission and values. Our graduates are prepared to address educational inequities and make a substantive difference in the educational experiences of children and youth. Our new EdD in Educational Leadership for Teacher Leaders embodies this mission and vision. We are seeking a colleague who shares our vision of education as a tool for social justice.
The successful candidate will satisfy all of the following requirements:
- Earned PhD or EdD in Educational Leadership or related
field.
- Proven success or exceptional promise for accomplishment in
scholarship.
- Experience teaching online.
- Demonstrated commitment to the mission of the university with
an emphasis on anti-racism and a just and sustainable world.
- Strong knowledge of and experience in the K-12 landscape and
current research on leadership for K-12 and/or social justice
educational contexts.
- Ability to develop effective partnerships with community
stakeholders and colleagues within the School of Education and
Human Development and across campus.
Preference will be given to candidates with the following qualifications:
- Demonstrated commitment and experience working with diverse and
marginalized communities in K-12 and community settings.
- Prior teaching and/or leadership experiences in PK-12
settings.
- Evidence of successful university teaching.
- Demonstrated ability to advise graduate students, supervise
dissertations, and contribute to overall program development.
The salary range is competitive. Appointment is effective spring 2022. Review of applications will begin on November 1st, and continue until the position is filled.
