Primary Purpose of Position:
The primary purpose of this position is to mow and trim turf grass; prune of trees and shrubs; planting of trees, shrubs, and flowers; weeding, cultivating and mulching plant beds; spraying herbicides; leaf removal; snow and ice removal from the University roads and walkways.

Minimum Education/Experience:
Some knowledge of cleaning procedures, ability to follow instructions and to perform medium to heavy physical work; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Special certification may be required for some of these positions.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
The successful candidate must possess a working knowledge of grounds keeping and horticultural practices; knowledge of cultivation, pruning, spraying and trimming requirements for trees and shrubs; ability to perform heavy to medium physical work; ability to lift up to 50 pounds; ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form; ability to multi-task in addition to bending and stooping frequently; ability to work independently and to take initiative and follow through until completion or resolution of assignments; ability to exercise judgment and discretion in problem solving; ability to perform basic computer skills; ability to follow written instruction.
