The Washington State University (WSU) Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences (VCS) seeks to fill a career/clinical track, full-time, 12-month renewable position within the Neurology/Neurosurgery section of its Veterinary Teaching Hospital at WSU Pullman,WA.  The position will join a team whose primary mission will be clinical teaching, clinical service and scholarship.  The position is available immediately. Depending upon research background and experience, there may be an opportunity to negotiate conversion to a tenure-track position within three (3) years in rank, subject to university policy.  

RESPONSIBILITIES:  Successful applicant will teach professional veterinary students, interns, residents and graduate students in didactic (classroom/laboratories) and in clinical setting on topics of Neurology/Neurosurgery; will provide health care and service to patients of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital; will advise and consult with referring veterinarians and clients; will develop a creative, independent/collaborative, basic and/or clinically-oriented research program in Neurology/Neurosurgery; will be in direct support of a neurology residency program; and will provide leadership in directing research projects of residents and graduate students.  Successful applicants must be able to effectively communicate, work collegially, and collaborate with diverse internal and external constituencies. 

QUALIFICATIONS:  The candidate must possess a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or a related foreign equivalent degree (such as a BVSc), and be board-certified by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (Neurology) (ACVIM) or the European College of Veterinary Neurology (ECVN).

Preferred qualifications include a record of scholarly productivity and interest in EEG research, evidence of expertise in teaching and accomplishments that demonstrate the potential to become an outstanding scholar and educator.
