We’re looking for a storyteller who can connect with readers in support of Goodwin University’s marketing, branding, and communications initiatives. As Marketing Content Writer, you will be immersed in a lively team environment where creativity thrives.

Essential Job Functions/Primary Responsibilities :

  • Creates engaging, persuasive writing for the University’s enrollment/marketing/recruitment needs (website, blog, email communication, press releases, etc.)
  • Acts as a brand representative on and off campus at community events; invites identified stakeholders to campus
  • Interview and write graduate success stories for the blog
  • Contributes creative ideas during team brainstorming sessions
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned
Other Functions :
  • Performs similar or related work as required, directed or as situation dictates.
  • Continues professional development and training; keeps current with trends.
  • Assists other department staff as needed to promote a team effort.
  • Conducts all work in a safe manner and all work safety practices are followed.
  • Ability to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends if needed
  • Must be able to work on-campus. This is not a remote position.
Knowledge, Ability and Skill :
  • Strong writing skills (creative, narrative, and persuasive)
  • Excellent grammar skills; strong proofreader and editor
  • Creative thinker, proactive, and a self-starter
  • Team player with strong communication skills
  • Understands the University’s goals and initiatives
  • Attention to detail and accuracy; strong organizational and planning skills
  • Ability to multitask and handle shifting priorities
Qualifications

Education, Training and Experience :
  • Associate degree required, Bachelor’s degree preferred in related field
  • Must provide samples of narrative/persuasive writing with application submission
  • Familiarity with MS Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Associated Press Stylebook and New York Times Manual of Style (preferred)
  • Basic photography skills (preferred)
  • Basic understanding of SEM/SEO (preferred)
  • Familiarity with Word Press (preferred)
Special Requirements :
  • Valid CT Driver’s license and insured vehicle.
