Job Summary

The Associate Director of Parking Services is responsible for the daily administrative and facilities operations of Parking Services at the University City and Queen Lane campuses at Drexel University. This position requires a high level of confidentiality, dependability, and ability to work independently. The position is responsible for hiring, training, supervising and evaluating professional staff and other student employees.

Essential Functions

  1. Supervise front-line customer service initiatives at the University City and Queen Lane campuses for students, faculty, professional staff as well as guests/visitors to the university. Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer-centric behavior at all times.
  2. Supervise the parking permit sales process and record keeping in University’s enterprise system. Responsible for all database updates to open and close quarterly, semesterly, and annual sales process. Work closely with University’s Payroll Department for employee payroll deduction transactions and support Drexel Business Services team members in regular audits.
  3. Hire, train, and supervise parking enforcement monitors. Through their work, enforce all Drexel Parking policies and procedures through an efficient citation writing process. With staff, identify citation trends, recommend policy adjustments, and develop methods to accurately monitor and enforce parking behavior.
  4. Ensures parking lots and equipment are monitored and maintained ensuring compliance with relevant policies, procedures, standards, and laws. Works closely with University Facilities, Public Safety, other campus partners and business partners. Responsible for all access control related to parking lots. Establish and implement quality assurance programs to ensure staff are efficiently monitoring all parking lots.
  5. Responsible for the department’s customer service initiatives by supervising customer facing e-mail account and inquiries in University’s Customer Relations Management software, ensuring a timely and professional response to all inquiries. Ensure a high level of professionalism in all written correspondences. Analyze themes and formalize recommendations for improvement of services to customer inquiries.
  6. Approve all cash operations and reconcile cash records daily to reports obtained through enterprise level software. Approve prepared credit card reconciliation reports and weekly reconciliations at the Cashier's Office and reconcile with Drexel Business Services financial team members.
  7. Responsible for the supervision of the Daily Visitor and Special Event parking process at both Philadelphia campuses. Have ability to quickly and accurately report on guest counts and rosters. With support from Drexel Business Services, process all internal department charges and reconcile appropriately.
  8. Adjudicate second level parking citation appeals. When appropriate, execute refunds and communications to customers regarding parking ticket disputes. Audit citation dismissal requests and report irregular incidents to supervisor.
  9. Maintain regular contact with third party Parking business partners such as AIMS (Parking Permit management), Flash Parking (Garage transaction processing), and Passport (mobile payment and citation processing).
  10. Monitor trends in urban parking environments and provide continual recommendations which decrease expenses, elevate revenue, or enhance the customer experience.
  11. Responsible for all administrative systems, including opening and closing parking permit sales, adjusting capacities to meet revenue goals, developing complex availability rules, and maintaining permit database. In short time, become the power user for all Parking-related systems.
  12. Other duties as assigned.
