Responsibilities:
The Department of Bioengineering in the College of Engineering is seeking a highly motivated Academic Coordinator (AC) to join their team and provide integral support to this rapidly growing department. Reporting to the Business Manager, the responsibilities will include coordinating administrative leadership, supporting, and providing policy guidance for the Graduate and Undergraduate Committees and Associate Chairs. The AC is involved with all aspects relating to admissions, recruitment, and retention efforts to include tracking student progress and qualifying exams and conducting student exit interviews. The AC is the primary contact to undergraduate and graduate students for all inquiries and assist students with solutions and collect their feedback to analyze trends to continuously improve on department services and processes. The AC works with the Business Manager in various strategic special projects and provides data analysis on above functions. The academic aspects of this role is managing the teaching schedule (undergraduate and graduate), classroom change requests, TRACE evaluations, and updates the Undergraduate and Graduate Catalogue. This position also plays a vital role in the coordination of Capstone projects, including Capstone Project Day and is the lead point of contact for communications regarding Capstone to the students. The AC is the liaison between the department and other departments in the College of Engineering such as Undergraduate Advising and Graduate School of Engineering.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree preferred with minimum of two years of relevant professional experience in an academic or business environment or an Associate's degree with three or more years of experience with the interest in pursuing a bachelor's degree. A successful candidate is a flexible team player who enjoys a fast-paced and collaborative work environment and possess the following:
  • Strong project management/organizational skills with attention to fine detail, commitment to quality
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral presentation, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to balance multiple demands from demanding constituencies.
  • Must be able to consistently produce high quality work under tight deadlines.
  • Must demonstrate a professional presence and maturity in dealing with a variety of audiences, external and internal to the university.
  • Responsive to feedback and committed to continuous improvement, and high integrity.
