Job Description:

APPOINTMENT: 01/01/2022

RESPONSIBILITIES: Full-time, non-tenure-track faculty appointment. A minimum teaching load of 4/3 is required. Primary teaching needs are at the Macomb campus, with some livestream and online courses as well, in the areas of financial health, financial management, portfolio management. Preferred candidates will demonstrate the ability to teach introductory economics classes. Service activities are encouraged, including interactions with external business constituencies and student engagement activities.

Requirements:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Earned Master's degree in Finance, MBA with a Finance concentration, or closely related graduate degree.
  • Recent professional experience in corporate finance, investment or banking.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Familiarity with finance-relevant technology.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Graduate degree from an AACSB-accredited university.
  • Finance related professional certification (e.g., CFA or CFP).
  • Classroom teaching experience.
  • Experience with technology-driven course delivery, including video conferencing and online methods.

For a degree to be considered, it must be conferred from a regionally accredited degree granting institution of higher education (or equivalent from an international accrediting body). Unless otherwise stated, the degree must be "in hand" at the time of application.

THE DEPARTMENT: The School of Accounting, Finance, Economics, and Decision Sciences offers B.B. degrees in Accounting, Finance, Economics, and Business Analytics. The College of Business and Technology (CBT) has over 2,100 undergraduate majors, 275 graduate students, and 126 full-time faculty, and is accredited by AACSB International at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

THE UNIVERSITY: Since 1902, Western Illinois University has provided outstanding educational opportunities to individuals in west central Illinois and well beyond our region and state. WIU-Macomb, IL (Student Population: 6,432): A traditional, residential four-year campus with offering a comprehensive slate of undergraduate and graduate programs, including a doctorate in education, WIU-Macomb is located in the heart of west central Illinois in Macomb (population 20,000). Amtrak provides twice-daily service from Macomb to Chicago (and point in-between). Macomb is located approximately 75 miles from the Quad Cities International Airport (Moline, IL) and 70 miles from the Greater Peoria Regional Airport (Peoria, IL).

WIU-Quad Cities (Student Population: 1,192): The only public university in the Quad Cities area, WIU-QC offers select undergraduate and graduate programs, including a doctorate in education and a doctorate in environmental studies, at its metropolitan, nonresidential campus in Moline, IL.
