Reporting to the provost, the dean participates in university-wide shared governance processes and is a member of AUB’s leadership team. The dean provides vision and leadership for the planning, development, management, and evaluation of the Office of Student Affairs. The successful candidate should have broad experience interacting with and supporting the needs of a diverse student population; have a strong record of success as a leader; possess excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills; and the ability to respond to various constituents including students—undergraduate, graduate, and professional—parents, faculty, alumni, and other stakeholders.

The American University of Beirut (AUB) invites applications and nominations for the position of Dean of Student Affairs. The Office of Student Affairs (OSA) provide services, programs, and facilities that foster academic success and promote student assured self-awareness and better informed career planning in a changing world. OSA is committed to a holistic approach to student development—intellectual, social, physical, psychological, and cultural—in an environment that promotes diversity, tolerance, civic and moral responsibility, local and global awareness, and psychological and emotional well-being. The office is responsible for organizing all co-curricular activities, including 70 active student clubs and student publications; overseeing the student government; and managing the offices of Accessible Education, Career Hub, Counseling Center, Student Activities, Student Housing, University Sports, Wellness Outreach and Peer Support, and the Work Study Program.
