Job Summary:

The Academic Technology department in the UW-Madison School of Nursing (SoN) is seeking an experienced, dynamic colleague to join our collaborative team as a Supervisor & Lead for the School's Center for Technology-Enhanced Nursing (CTEN), which includes clinical labs and simulated learning spaces. The primary role of this position focuses on working with SoN faculty, staff, and executive leadership to develop instructional programs and activities at the program and course levels. Additionally, the position works with faculty, students, and vendors to coordinate and ensure operational functionality of clinical learning spaces including scheduling, managing staff, ensuring availability of appropriate supplies, and maintaining clinical equipment used for learning activities. Technical skills and knowledge need to be well-grounded in a thorough understanding of adult learning principles and practices and applied learning theory and instructional design models in the consultation, selection, and application of educational methodologies and technologies to promote active learning, refine critical thinking, and increase student success.

Qualifications:

Well-qualified applicants should have the following:
- Three years full-time equivalent job-related experience
- Positive interpersonal communication, commitment to quality customer service, and problem solving skills
- Ability to work with faculty across undergraduate and graduate programs to design learning activities, and determine space and equipment needs within CTEN
- Excellent coordination and scheduling skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team
- Experience tracking budgets/expenses and supply inventories
- Experience working in a fast-paced experiential teaching/learning (lab) environment preferred
- High level understanding of software, hardware, and technologies used in support of teaching in a clinical setting
- Ability to take initiative, prioritize, and to adapt to a shifting variety of duties
- Physical ability to bend, climb, and lift up to 35 pounds on a consistent basis

This position works with faculty, students, and staff to assure that the Center for Technology- Enhanced Nursing (CTEN) is effectively utilized. CTEN offers students and faculty the best available tools for team-based, interactive, problem-focused learning and includes a simulated environment to practice skills and simulations using state of art equipment and space. CTEN helps to prepare students for high-pressure, complex care situations.
