The Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management at Clemson University is one of the largest and leading programs of its kind in the country. We seek an individual with substantial and successful experience in leading nonprofit organizations to fill a full-time Lecturer or Professor of Practice position in our online Nonprofit Leadership (NPL) Minor beginning in late 2021 or early 2022. The position is a nine-month, non-tenure track appointment with possible opportunities for teaching in the summer. The appointment is for a one-year contract, renewable annually. Lecturers will have the opportunity for promotion to Senior and Principal Lecturer as outlined in the Faculty Manual and departmental guidelines. Appointment as a Professor of Practice designates persons eminently qualified, experienced, and distinguished in their professions, but whose career paths and experiences have not been or are not primarily in the academy.

Between 2014-2019, the NPL program grew by 800% and in the last academic year it grew by another 36% to a total of 1,253 students enrolled. We seek a full-time instructor who will add to the program's quality through excellence in teaching, bring substantial professional experiences to the classroom, add to the consistency and content of courses, be engaging to student in an online teaching format, and help with the administration of the program. Duties include teaching online the equivalent of four courses per semester, advising NPL students, assisting with the development of graduate level courses, and other departmental duties as required. The expectations include teaching in the NPL minor program with an initial primary focus on the introductory courses. Upon approval, a person appointed as a Professor of Practice will have the opportunity to teach at the graduate level as well. The Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management at Clemson University is one of the largest of its type in North America, with 44 full-time faculty and 21 professional staff. QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum qualifications: A Master's degree or higher in PRTM, NPL, or a related field At least five years of experience working in and successfully leading nonprofit organizations for appointment as a lecturer or 15 plus of this experience for appointment as a Professor of Practice Willingness and ability to learn and use technology such as Zoom, Canvas, etc. to teach in a fully online program
