This entry level position is a member of the Center for Teaching and Learning at UCM and serves the university academic community as a leading resource for instructional design. The focus on this position is to support academic instruction at UCM by collaborating with instructors and instructional designers to identify the best uses for technology in instruction. The individual in this position provides consultations and training on instructional technologies and software for UCM’s faculty and staff in support and enhancement of instruction. The person in this position is required to maintain currency in educational technology and techniques. This position will assist with coordination of training and professional development opportunities, including scheduling, promoting, and documenting participation. Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Education, Curriculum & Development, or related field. (required)

Master’s degree in the following field(s) of study: Instructional Design, Education Technology, Curriculum & Development, or related field.(preferred)

Education may be substituted for experience or experience may be substituted for education. Note that equivalencies are based on the following: AA or 60 credit hours = 2 years’ experience; BA/BS or 120 credit hours = 4 years’ experience; MA/MS = 6 years’ experience; PhD = 8 years’ experience.

Computer Skills Word-Processing, Spreadsheet, Presentation, Web Page Maintenance, Class Management Software, Other - Skill in learning new software and applications quickly. Experience
Required:
  • One (1) year of full-time experience (or equivalent education) in a higher education setting including working in a team-based environment with the demonstrated ability to multi-task.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with common educational technology tools (e.g., Adobe products, Google in education, virtual and augmented reality, SoftChalk, BlackBoard, etc.)
  • Certified or willingness to become certified (within 6 months of employment) in QM rubrics and as a QM Peer Reviewer.
Preferred:
  • One (1) year experience as an online instructor K/12 or higher education.
  • Experience using LMS ., Adobe Creative Cloud, Office suite, and Internet browser applications.
