Primary Purpose and General Responsibilities
The VCU Child Development Center (CDC) is committed to fostering a positive, diverse and inclusive environment for faculty, staff, students, families and children. We are excited to invite qualified candidates from diverse backgrounds and with diverse perspectives for the position of Assistant Project Director. This position will be responsible for: m arketing the CDC to high needs communities; recruiting students--with an emphasis on recruiting Pell-eligible students; working within the community to establish new programs that meet the needs of low income families; working with the staff of the Center for Urban Education and Family (CUEF) to ensure that services are provided to meet the needs of the clientele that the CUEF will support; collaborating with iCubed scholars at VCU to produce research that is generalizable.
Required Qualifications
-Master’s degree in counseling or closely related field from an accredited college or university
-Demonstrated experience working in community-based programs
-Demonstrated experience working with underserved populations
-Demonstrated program management experience
-Effective communication skills (written and verbal)
-Demonstrated experience fostering a diverse and inclusive environment or an expressed commitment to do so as a staff employee at VCU
Preferred Qualifications
-Experience working on research teams
Salary Range: $60,000- 65,000
