Position Summary
The Department of Health Policy and Management ( HPAM ) seeks candidates to fill an assistant professor position in the clinical track. It is expected that the faculty member will assume the responsibilities of coordinating the Master of Health Administration ( MHA ) program. The coordinator of the MHA program directs all activities of the MHA program including identifying potential internships and residencies for MHA students, places students in internships and residencies, advises students, supervises student residencies and capstone reports, maintains contacts with preceptors, and teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in health management. The successful candidate will be actively involved sharing their knowledge and expertise while educating the next generation of public health professionals. The Department intends to initiate CAHME accreditation process within the next 1-2 years and experience in program accreditation would be desirable.
The department offers an undergraduate minor in health policy and management, an MHA degree, and a DrPH degree. In addition, HPAM supports a health policy and management concentration area within the College of Public Health MPH program. Ideal candidates would have the ability to teach across these programs. The Department has developed a series of online courses, and interest and expertise in this arena is desired. The College of Public Health is actively engaged in community outreach activities. HPAM is a strong supporter of this College mission and the successful candidate will support these activities.
Founded in 2005, the College of Public Health is located on the University of Georgia’s Health Sciences Campus. The College consists of four departments, Health Policy and Management, Epidemiology-Biostatistics, Health Promotion and Behavior, and Environmental Health Science and three institutes, Institute for Disaster Management, Institute of Gerontology and Global Health Institute. The HPAM Department is located in newly renovated facilities that house faculty, staff and students.
