Position Summary
The School of Physical Therapy at Slippery Rock University is seeking applicants for a full-time, tenure-track faculty member at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in our well-established, three year, fully accredited Doctor of Physical Therapy Program. Slippery Rock University is one of 14 universities in the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education, offering an excellent salary structure, a comprehensive benefits package, and an exceptional retirement program. Responsibilities will include managing all facets of clinical education experiences within the curriculum, including but not limited to coordination of student clinical placements; clinical site contracts; clinical site, clinical instructor, and student evaluations; exploring opportunities for clinical site training and education; development and maintenance of clinical education partnerships; development and coordination of clinical education within the program curriculum; maintaining compliance with accreditation standards; exploring contemporary teaching and learning opportunities; and intermittent travel to clinical sites.

Responsibilities may include teaching in the faculty member’s area of expertise and areas of need within the department’s curriculum. Other duties include service at the department, college, university, and professional levels, student advising, and pursuit of scholarly activity through research, publications and professional presentations. All faculty must comply with accreditation requirements of the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education ( CAPTE ). Minimum Qualifications
Current unrestricted license or eligibility for PT licensure in Pennsylvania.
Doctoral preparation with a DPT, PhD, EdD, or other doctoral degree.
Minimum 3 years of full-time post-licensure clinical PT practice.
Minimum 2 years of experience as Director of Clinical Education ( DCE ) for a CAPTE accredited physical therapy program, or a minimum of 2 years of experience in teaching, curriculum development and administration in a physical therapy education program, or minimum 2 years of experience as a Center Coordinator of Clinical Education ( CCCE ) or Clinical Instructor (CI) at a physical therapy facility.
Successful candidates must possess strong communication, organizational, interpersonal, problem-solving, and mentoring skills.
Candidate must demonstrate a commitment to the education of diverse populations.
Successful performance in an interview and teaching demonstration, are required. Preferred Qualifications
Experience with EXXAT or similar clinical education management program.
Strong skills in use of educational technology.
APTA Credentialed Clinical Instructor certification.
Experience with in-person or online teaching in higher education.
Record of scholarship and service to the profession; current scholarly agenda with potential to involve student researchers.
Current clinical practice, advanced training, or board certification in physical therapy clinical specialization.
Academic doctoral degree (PhD, EdD, or other).
