Job Description:
The School of Kinesiology announces the availability
of a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the
area of Exercise Physiology. The candidate will have a commitment
to scholarly productivity, grant writing, teaching excellence, and
service. The appointment will be effective January 2022 or August
2022.

Qualifications: Earned
doctorate in Kinesiology, or a related field by August 2021.
Candidates must provide evidence of scholarly activity that
demonstrates a strong potential for publications in top tier
peer-reviewed journals, competence in teaching undergraduate and
graduate classes in their area of expertise, seeking external
funding for scholarly activities, and involvement in service to the
University and the profession.
Preferred candidates will have postdoctoral training
and evidence of the ability to compete for extramural
funding. Preferred candidates will have a research focus on
how physical (in)activity contributes to health and disease.
Ideal candidates will have a track record in studying acute
responses and/or chronic adaptations to exercise, which leads to
enhanced physiological/metabolic/cardiopulmonary performance.
Strong consideration will be given to applicants whose work centers
on adipose tissue and/or skeletal muscle biology in aging and/or
chronic disease and a level of expertise that enhances our research
teams' ability to expand our external funding.
Responsibilities: (1)
Develop, or continue, a fundable research program; (2) teach
undergraduate courses and/or graduate courses in exercise
physiology; (3) provide advisement to graduate students, and direct
dissertations; (5) seek external funding support for scholarly
activities; (6) serve on School, College, University, and
Profession-based committees as appropriate;

Salary: Commensurate
with qualifications and experience.
